Completed in 2001, the Oklahoma City Zoo Entry & Gift Shop created an exciting new face for the park. Simple stone towers mark the entry and canopies stretch along the length of the drop-off zone for buses and cars. An array of wood trusses guide visitors through the gates and into the park while planting bed ledges and park benches provide rest for weary adventurers.

Once inside the entry gates, landscaped spaces and covered walks welcome Zoo guests and accommodate access to amenities such as ticketing, guest relations, security, retail, and food services. Then at the center of it all is the "Global Plaza" - a 6400 sq. ft. world map designed to guide guests to the locations of the animals' natural habitats. Included in the project is a Water Fowl exhibit which overlooks the Zoological Park grounds.
