David Payne is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma. As a young student, experienced in building model cars and planes, David discovered architecture through a friend’s grandfather who worked in the industry. In 1987, David and Bruce Bockus co-founded Bockus Payne based on two simple principles: superior service and design. Over 35 years later, the firm remains devoted to curating long-lasting business relationships that hinge on communication and trust.

Expertly versed in both architecture and business leadership, David begins each project with a devoted ear, emphasizing the client’s wants, needs, and budget considerations. David credits his success to the people that he works with every day—from clients to consultants to his team at Bockus Payne. When not at the office, David can be found spending time with his grandchildren or enjoying a round of golf.
