Bruce DeFriese
Fun Fact: Bruce has been a fan of professional European cycling since the age of 13
AIA, ASLA, Vice President | Architect
Born in Seminole, Oklahoma, Bruce DeFriese began his education at Oklahoma State University seeking a career as a forest ranger. Discovering that the job market for rangers was slim, Bruce pivoted to landscape architecture, which would enable him to remain close to the outdoors. As a vice president at Bockus Payne, Bruce enjoys working across a wide range of projects, and particularly loves opportunities that allow him to utilize his landscape architecture skills.
Bruce believes that a set of drawings cannot be judged fully until they are built, and that success is all about the experience of using the built space over time. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys volunteering at his Church, traveling, and hiking with his family.
