Design Brief

Seeking to modernize its facilities and enhance the customer experience, a KIA dealership undertook a transformational project to align with the automaker’s nationwide brand standards. This initiative involved demolishing an outdated sales office, constructing a contemporary showroom, and remodeling the service area. The result is a sleek, purpose-driven facility that integrates bold, modern design with functional elements, reflecting KIA’s vision for a cohesive brand identity while elevating both customer engagement and operational efficiency.

 
 

A Modern Facelift for the Exterior

The exterior design creates an immediate and lasting impression. White and silver metal composite material (MCM) panels provide clean, crisp lines, serving as a minimalist backdrop for KIA’s iconic signage. Expansive glass curtainwalls flood the showroom with natural light and establish a sense of transparency, inviting customers inside. The new façade balances simplicity and sophistication, projecting an image of innovation and excellence.

A Branded Interior Experience

Inside, the dealership exemplifies KIA’s design ethos, combining functionality with brand recognition. A vivid red back-painted glass Brand Wall stands behind the reception desk, creating a bold focal point and reinforcing KIA’s identity. The showroom features pendant lighting that highlights a designated display vehicle, while all-glass storefront offices allow natural light to flow freely throughout the space. The cool gray flooring, paired with touches of KIA’s signature red and metallic accents, completes the modern, polished interior design.

The project site presented unique challenges, from maintaining ongoing sales and service operations during construction to resolving significant elevation changes between the new showroom and the existing service garage. The design team incorporated a temporary structure to ensure uninterrupted operations and addressed the elevation differences by aligning the showroom’s finish floor level with the garage. Exterior ramps and stairs were incorporated to maintain accessibility and create a dynamic elevated vehicle display area that enhances the dealership’s visual presence.

Customer-Centric Design

Every aspect of the remodel was carefully considered to improve the customer experience. The elevated showroom entrance doubles as an automobile showcase, creating an immediate sense of excitement. Inside, the open, light-filled spaces encourage exploration, while the thoughtful integration of brand-specific elements ensures a cohesive, immersive environment.

The material selection prioritized durability and aesthetics, with white and silver MCM panels, split-faced concrete masonry units (CMU), and polished concrete flooring creating a clean, modern backdrop. Aluminum-framed curtainwalls with insulated glazing contribute to energy efficiency. While sustainability was not a project requirement, the choice of materials reflects an emphasis on long-term value and low maintenance.

The KIA Dealership Remodel and Showroom Construction project represents a commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. By aligning with KIA’s nationwide brand standards, the redesigned dealership elevates the customer journey and establishes a benchmark for modern automotive facilities.
